Welcome to the third installment of Shows We Like!, wherein Moonkid Camille Harris tells you about shows that we like because you will probably like them too!
If you like The Moon, then we think you will like The Vintage Vantage Variety Show!

The Vintage Vantage Variety Show is hosted by Kyle Supley and features by The Pendulum Swings, an awesome big band led by Jason Trachtenburg. I went to the first performance of their year-long residency at Under Saint Mark’s and it was a blast and a half. Friend of The Moon Ben Lerman played some of his hilarious songs and was spontaneously accompanied (to his and the audience’s surprise and delight) by The Pendulum Swings. Brooke Van Poppelen, another friend of The Moon, performed some of her hilarious, off-handedly honest standup, which fit perfectly with the casual, conversational style of the show. Kyle’s “guest sidekick” of the month was the beautiful and funny Tracey Petrillo. Together, they screened and commented on a selection of hilarious vintage videos that Kyle found on YouTube, including some early Jim Henson commercials. I couldn’t stop smiling.
Kyle Supley has always had an affinity for all things vintage, as evidenced by a home video he screened, in which a 12-year-old Kyle gives the camera a tour of his antique clock collection. He seems to have finally found a venue to showcase his many interests and talents. As he describes it, “think Johnny Carson meets American Bandstand, meets I Love The ’30s, ’50s and ’70s on CRACK!…er, Coca Cola’s original recipe…”
